How to print and use this chart

  1. Print this page. In the print dialog set Scale to 100%and turn off “Fit to page” or “Shrink oversized pages”.
  2. Hold a credit card against the calibration box. If the box is not exactly the same size as the card, your printer rescaled the page — fix the scale setting and print again.
  3. Place a ring you already own over the circles until the inside edge of the ring lines up with the edge of a circle.
  4. Read the US, UK and EU sizes printed beside that circle.
  5. If your ring sits between two circles, choose the larger size.

Why printed ring size charts are often wrong

A printable ring size chart is only as accurate as the printer that produced it. Most print drivers apply a small margin adjustment by default — typically shrinking the page by three to five percent to fit within unprintable edges. Three percent does not sound like much, but across a 17 mm circle it is roughly half a ring size, which is exactly the margin that decides whether a ring fits.

That is why the calibration box matters more than the circles do. A credit card is manufactured to the ISO/IEC 7810 ID-1 standard at 85.60 × 53.98 mm everywhere in the world, which makes it a reliable physical ruler that almost everyone already owns. If the printed box matches your card, the circles on the same sheet are correct too.
